Solution Building Couples Therapy

October 3, 2015

The strength of the Solution Focused Approach is its simplicity; however, that is also what makes it such a challenge to learn. Solution building language harnesses the client’s desires for a conjoint and positive future together, and thus moves their lives away from the problem. By shifting in this way, the couple gains awareness of their skills and resources to conquer future challenges. Each part of the therapeutic process will be described and illustrated with sample videos, dialogues, techniques, and vignettes. Workshop participants will feel as though they themselves are going through the therapeutic process with the couples and observing the impact of each step of the process.

Key Features:

  • Features examples drawn from actual cases, illustrating techniques used in practice
  • Presents scales to measure progress and application of SFT to couples’ counseling
  • How to handle arguments in the session
  • What to do when one member of the couple is less invested than the other

Mr. Connie will conduct a live session during the workshop.
