Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT): Professional Seminars and Presentations
Interactive and informative seminars for professionals who
want to benefit from SFT in their business or practice

I have done trainings on the solution focused approach all over the country and in other parts of the world such as Europe, Asia, and Canada. My greatest passion in doing trainings and presentations is providing informative content and interactive opportunities for attendees to both learn new material and practice what they learned. Whether I am conducting a training at an international conference or in my office back home in Keller, Texas, my best hope for those in attendance is that they leave with knowledge and skills that they can apply the very next time they are in their office working with people.
I routinely conduct trainings in my office for helping professionals such as Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, Social Workers, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, School Counselors and others. Below is a list of trainings I am offering and links to sign up. CEUs for LPC, LMFT, and Social Workers included at no additional cost.
Thanks! I look forward to seeing you at these events!
Solution Focused Brief Therapy: Practicing Beyond the Techniques Date and Time: February 17th, 2012 9am-4pm Location: 1660 Keller Parkway suite 102 Keller, TX 76248
The Solution Focused Approach is a pragmatic approach to working with clients that is based on moving towards a person's preferred future. This is very different from problem solving that is done in traditional approaches of psychotherapy. Pioneered by Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg, the solution focused approach has been published in countless books and used in numerous research studies. This workshop will introduce attendees to the key assumptions and tenets of the solution focused approach. Also, attendees will learn the skills and techniques needed to solution build with clients in the most difficult situations. This workshop will contain an interactive lecture, video demonstrations of real client sessions, and group exercises to practice.
The Solution Focused Approach in Couples Therapy Date and Time: April 13, 2012 9am-4pm Location: 1660 Keller Parkway suite 102 Keller, TX 76248
The Solution Focused Approach is best known for being a pragmatic and positive approach to change, utilizing client strengths and assets. As a result the Solution Focused Approach is especially helpful in assisting couples to shift attention from problem patterns to patterns based on each partner's best attributes. By sticking to the couple's best hopes rather than analyzing the problems that block their path the couple's natural ability to be successful takes over. I will be inviting participants to recognize their own best abilities in working with couples and use these well-established skills as a foundation for further development. I will be using demonstrations to illustrate points of the presentation and exercises to ground the learning in practice.
